We are not commanders of Praetorian guards to be used as an instrument to silence those who are merely telling the truth against this administration under the Commander-in-Chief who is so corrupt, whose tentacles of corruption extends in the halls of Congress and in the higher echelon of the executive branches of this government.
After silencing its detractors by all kinds of action, legal and extra legal - the Arroyo Administration and their cohorts are moving heaven and earth to amend the Constitution to extend their term in office. They are doing anything under their power to control the chain of command in the Armed Forces of the Philippines replacing, reassigning and shorthening the term of office of those that they cannot dictate to obey their illegal and immoral directives and orders.
In his speech before the Cavaliers during its Alumni assembly, General Alexander Yano urged us soldiers to: “Do right, burn bright, lead the good fight” and told us –“we are not just warriors. We are leaders and therefore, we must lead the fight against poverty, against corruption. He urged us to respect human rights and recommended to drop unwarranted tag of communist terrorist when not validated". In less than two months thereafter, Gen. Yano’s stint as the Chief of Staff of the AFP was cut short.
The Arroyo Administration is now manipulating promotions and placement of military officers, even placing to the command of some units in the police and military service at the disposal of civilians whose purpose and intention is highly suspicious. We are now in a dangerous time when our military personnel and police forces are being used against the very people it vow to protect.
We are not messengers of death against those who are merely telling the truth to expose the culture of corruption in the Arroyo administration.
We are not executioners of those who criticizes this government for the betterment of our people.
We took our oath to defend our country and its people - not to oppress , but to protect them.
We appeal to every decent Filipino to be vigilant, alert and watchful of the deception being employed by the Arroyo administration.
We appeal to every Filipino to join us in this struggle by conveying our message to all of our countrymen worldwide!
